There’s no better time than now to attend your first weed convention in Biloxi. Mississippi’s legal cannabis market is brand new and already booming. CannaCon’s Biloxi cannabis conference is sure to impress, educate and enlighten anyone interested in entering this fledgling market. Kicking off the year in Biloxi, Mississippi, CannaCon will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25, at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

Mississippi Medicinal Marijuana Market

Mississippi became the 37th state to legalize medical cannabis on Feb. 2, 2022. Celebrate the first anniversary of state-wide legalization by learning more and staying up to date with current local events by attending the cannabis conference in Biloxi.

In summer 2022, hundreds of dispensary applications were submitted to the Mississippi Department of Revenue. Entrepreneurs raced to claim their spot in the industry. Likewise, the state has brought in just shy of $6 million in licensing and application fees since October from various business entities eager to pioneer the budding market, including dispensaries, cultivators and growers, transporters and testing/processing agencies.

Mind you, this is all before a single sale has occurred. There are a handful of dispensaries throughout Biloxi, Miss., ready for business as soon as the Mississippi Department of Revenue allows them to open their doors, which could be within the first quarter of 2023. The Biloxi City Council has been considering the proposal of medical cannabis regulation ordinances allowing cultivation, processing research, dispensaries and transportation to be established in the agricultural, industrial, downtown, waterfront and business districts.

While this is all quite exciting, there’s a reason why operations management, business/legal and compliance are the most popular subjects for seminars at the upcoming Biloxi weed convention. Marijuana Moment and Mississippi Today recently reported that while the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program has more than 80,000 plants so far, there are zero investigators to ensure compliance

“Health Department officials told the Board of Health on Wednesday that the agency is in a four-month ‘provisional’ period with licensed marijuana businesses. As it finds problems or violations, it’s typically just issuing ‘corrective actions,’ giving marijuana businesses a chance to straighten up without hitting them with fines or sanctions or calling in law enforcement,” reported Geoff Pender in Mississippi Today.

Attending this unique Biloxi cannabis conference will be nothing short of an advantage in a newly developing market.

    Hello,

I’m reaching out to see if you have a need for an additional speaker in the retail and marketing sector of Cannabis? I spoke at Cannacon Oklahoma a few years ago and was just selected to speak at CannaPortugal this May. This speaking engagement would be led by myself or Joe Baer (owner of ZenGenius). Over the years we have worked with a variety of Cannabis retailers including Trulieve, Columbia Care, Cresco, Green Thumb Industries and more and have many case studies and examples to share with attendees. Please let me know if this interests you.
