Why Attend OH Cannabis Events?
Supporting OH cannabis events is important, especially after the cancellation of the Ohio Cannabis Festival this year. According to Zick Productions, its team prepared to run the festival from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 at the Summit County Fairgrounds in Tallmadge, which are handled by the Summit County Agricultural Society (SCAS). However, Zick Productions posted in mid-June that SCAS had decided to cancel the contract for the Ohio Cannabis Festival.
Tallmadge Mayor Carol Kilway said that while the city doesn’t act as a legal adviser for SCAS or have authority over them, her team was involved in the decision SCAS made about the Ohio Cannabis Festival event.
“Based on the event’s promotional materials, the city raised concerns regarding how the event would comply with state law,” Kilway said. “The event organizer was invited to address those concerns and did not respond.”
Another one of Ohio cannabis events, Stargazer Cannabis Festival, did proceed as planned at the end of July 2024.
While attending a cannabis convention in Ohio, be sure to follow all state laws. Ohio recreational consumers may purchase up to one ounce of flower, 10 units of oil to vape (with each unit containing 590 mg of THC) or 10 packages of edibles totaling no more than 1,100 mg of THC. Currently, an individual can possess up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis and 15 grams of extracts or edibles at a time. It is important to know that drug trafficking remains a valid charge under Ohio Revised Code §2925.03 if the amount is too large and law enforcement suspects you of dealing drugs.
