First, prepare a cleaning solution of 60 percent alcohol to 40 percent water. Then, disassemble the rig carefully, scrub it with a stiff brush and soak non-electronic parts ONLY for about 30 minutes. Brush or swab any remaining residue, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water. 

Use cotton swabs for delicate components. Rinse the atomizer and other parts with warm water. For the bubbler, fill and empty it under running water multiple times so no cleaning solution lingers. Air drying the dab rig completely is vital to maintaining its longevity and ideal performance. To reassemble, start with the base, then gently reinsert the atomizer or nail. Next, verify that all electrical connections are clean in order to maintain heat efficiency.

Recycler dab rigs

Recycler dab rig cleaning follows similar steps: gather high-concentration isopropyl alcohol, salt, pipe cleaners or cotton swabs and hot water. Then mix the salt with alcohol at 1:1 ratio, plug the openings, add the cleaning solution, then shake and swirl. Soak smaller components for at least 30 minutes or longer, scrub, rinse, dry thoroughly and reassemble.

Cleaning a dab rig with burnt wax
