Affectionately known as The Wizard, Todd Statzer serves as the Vice President of Environmental Sciences at urban-gro, a firm focused on high-performance Controlled Environment Agriculture facilities. urban-gro designs, engineers and integrates complex environmental equipment systems and solutions, including SOP-based Integrated Pest Management programs for customers across North America.

Having served as the cannabis facilities inspector for the State of Illinois, Todd understands state standards and regulations. Todd’s background includes three decades in the agricultural and horticultural market, including a family farm and running a 100% organic greenhouse producing bedding plants, perennials, and vegetable production. Todd also ran a greenhouse research complex for the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign where his team reduced chemical use by 30%

Todd holds a Master’s of Science degree in Crop Science with an emphasis in Plant Pathology/Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Applied Science from Western Illinois University.
