Sarah K. Rusnell, Michigan Department of Treasury

 

Sarah Rusnell has been with the Michigan Department of Treasury since 2013. She has a Bachelor of

Communication Arts and Sciences degree from Michigan State University. She is the manager of

Treasury Outreach within the Office of Communications, concentrating on providing stakeholders with

education-focused resources. In her time with Treasury, Sarah has worked extensively with many

Michigan tax types- affording her the ability to bring Treasury’s functional areas together and bridge

gaps through strategic, proactive communications and effective deliverables.

Outside of work, Sarah is an avid equestrian and hobby horologist (specifically, repairing grandfather

clocks). She enjoys mood reading multiple stories concurrently in different genres and formats, seeking

out the best coffee spot anywhere she goes, and nerding out about space operas (don’t ask her to

choose a favorite, but its Star Trek). Sarah is a passionate disability advocate with a healthcare
