Rebecca Knight, Ph.D., is the Director of Horticulture Research and Development at Illumitex, an LED lighting company that specializes in LED grow lights for a variety of horticultural lighting applications. For her Ph.D. she focused on the effects of environmental parameters on photosynthesis and terpenoid production. After her Ph.D. she started her own consulting company providing clients photochemical research and mathematical models and designs for vertical growth systems and aquaculture before joining the team at Illumitex. Rebecca holds a Ph.D. in Plant Biology, an M.S. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.A. in Japanese.

In addition to the fundamentals, this presentation will provide practical information and calculations that growers can use to determine light use efficiency (LUE) and productivity as it relates to energy usage.
